This workshops will look at incorporating items for collage to add texture and pattern such as cardboard, lighweight fabrics or textiles (not too thick), textured papers etc to make for an interesting mix of textures as a background that will be developed further with acrylic mediums & paint.

The general schedule for the six weeks is to have two three week working blocks as follows:

In the final session we will look at different methods of glazing to add depth and finishing your work.

Week 4-6: Taking what was learned from the first 3 sessions work will commence on a different type of landscape to that done in the first half of this block. Each week we will also take a look at some additional advanced techniques to those covered in the first half for you to incorporate into your work for example in this session we may take a look at working with oil over acrylic.

At the end of the 6 weeks two paintings approximately 40 x 50 cm will be completed.

As part of this session students will also learn how to prepare and work in different supports e.g. canvas board and prepared MDF board.
