DATES: Tuesday evenings 7-9pm – August 6th to August 27th (4weeks)
Location: Gallery 2, Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, WA6 6SE
Cost: £20 per session pay as you go or £80 total for all 4 weeks (payable at first session)
Level: Ideal for beginners or more advanced levels.
This class will be taking a look at working with cold wax and oil paints incorporating traditional oil painting techniques with some mixed media approaches to creating landscape and seascape paintings from either sketches, studies or photographs.
The outline schedule for the workshop will include:
Wk#1 – Introduction to working with oils and cold wax including making your own cold wax medium and experimentation with mixed media techniques.
WK#2 – Colour mixing and working from composition sketches & studies, graphical elements & perspective
WK#3 – Work on one or more paintings of your choice using studies, sketches or photographs
WK#4 – Completing/finishing your chosen painting(s), followed by critique & review
All materials & equipment will be provided. Free parking & Coffee/tea.
Please bring reference photos, studies or sketches and a table easel if you have one.
Attendees are also free to bring their own materials/equipment to use during the class.
