Location: Gallery 2, Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham, WA6 6SE
Cost: £15 per session pay as you go or £90 total for all 6 weeks (payable at first session)
Level: Ideal for beginners or more advanced levels.
Learn how to combine mixed media techniques using Golden fluid acrylic paints and mediums, drawing using Unison soft pastels & Pan Pastel combined with other pastels and dry media to create land and seascapes.
This course allows you to explore a wide range of techniques to bring your painting project ideas to fruition under professional artistic guidance and feedback.
This class will guide you through:
- Preparing your own supports and adding texture using Golden Acrylic mediums (on both paper and board)
- Developing compositional sketches and underpaintings using charcoal and Golden Fluid Acrylics
- Colour Theory – working with a limited palette and exploring colour combinations
- Drawing & Painting processes – building layers and adding details, fixing etc
- Finishing and presentation of work.
The goal over the six weeks will be to try complete 3-4 final works up to 40 x 40 cm (depending on weekly progress).
Styles will vary between realistic, expressionist to semi-abstraction.
All materials and equipment are provided (no need to buy) along with the usual free cup of tea/coffee and free parking.
Please bring some reference photos or sketches to work from. I will have one or two which will be used for demonstrations that can also be used if needed.
