Mixed Media Acrylic/Oils & Encaustic Land & Seascapes
Location: Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham
Over 6 weeks the group will look at combining acrylic & oils for painting land and seascapes with an introduction to working with homemade cold wax (encaustic process). Learn how this process can be used with oils to create textural luminous paintings. Please bring a working reference photos or sketches in relation to the them from which your painting will be developed.
The workshop will take you through the process from preparing your support (i.e. board), planning composition and colour palette, making your own cold wax through to the development stages of the painting to finished artwork.
Depending on speed of working students should complete one or two paintings over these six weeks.
All artist quality materials are supplied although you are welcome to bring your own too.
Cost: £12.50 per session pay as you go or £75 for all 6 sessions payable at first session

EXHIBITIONS
REFLECTIONS – A Students exhibition of works – 21st February 2017 (1 month)
Venue: Gallery 2 @ Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham
This spring some of my students alongside some of my works providing an opportunity for my students to reflect on their achievements and completed artworks over the past year. The exhibition will contain a variety of work ranging from abstract to traditional landscape and figurative work. An ideal opportunity to see what is possible with mixed media and to find out more about my workshops. Come along an say hello. Everyone welcome. Entry and parking is free.
ART CLASSES 2017 @ Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham
Intensive Life & Portraiture Painting & Drawing (all sessions from life models)
Dates: Mar 9, 16, 23 & 30 (4 weeks) , 7-9pm
Cost: £17.50 per session (includes life model fee of £5) or £70 for all 4 sessions
An intensive course in figurative & portraiture learning to draw and paint directly from life. Each session will be with a live model i.e. two session with female and two sessions with male. You will have the opportunity to choose the media you wish to work with i.e. charcoal, inks, pastels, watercolour, oils or acrylics or a combination of these or feel free to bring your own. Each two week session will commence with a 30 min quick sketch session with each model before commencing work on a more complete and spontaneous painting that will be refined and completed in the second sitting sesson with the model. You can choose to either paint just a portrait or a full figurative painting. (Please bring your own stand or table easels for these workshop sessions as I only have 2-3 for use)
Abstract / Semi-abstract Landscapes & Still Life (inc. Oils, Acrylic or Pastel)
Apr 13, 20, 27 & May 11, 18, 25 (6 weeks) , 7-9pm
Cost: £15 per session or £90 for all 6 sessions
An opportunity to explore abstracting landscapes or a still life in different media. The first session will involve a sketching session and demonstration for abstracting from life, from which paintings can be developed. Will include various demonstrations & introduction to new techniques each week.
Focus on Wildlife (inc. Acrylic, Oils, Pastel, Inks & Watercolour)
Jun 8, 15, 22, & 29 (4 weeks), 7-9pm
Cost: £15 per session or £60 for all 4 sessions
Ever wanted to know how to paint scales, fur or feathers or just want to paint a wild or cute animal? Working from photo or sketch reference develop a painting using your choice and combination of media. An ideal opportunity to learn fundamental skills and secrets for developing an interesting wildlife painting.
